Catherine Round

A dancer for over 20 years, Catherine Rounds’ career started on scholarship with Barry and Anna Van Cura at Ballet Tennessee and Robert Barnett at Atlanta Ballet. She furthered her training under such greats as Marat Daukayev from the Kirov Ballet, Birute Barodicaite from the Ruth Page Foundation and Ricardo Bustamante from American Ballet Theatre.

For 13 years, Catherine performed as a Corps de Ballet member and Soloist with Ballet Omaha and then Aeolian Ballet in Los Angeles. Soloist roles include: The Tempest, Cinderella, La Bayadere, Romeo & Juliet and the Nutcracker. She has also performed Corps de Ballet for Sleeping Beauty, Concerto Borocco and Les Sylphides.

Catherine has been teaching ballet in Los Angeles for over ten years, including seven years teaching and staging productions for the prestigious Marat Daukayev School of Ballet.

Teresa Uscanga-Rwizi

Ms. Teresa Uscanga-Rwizi was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico where she began taking music and dance classes at a early age. She moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1993 and graduated from California State University, Los Angeles in June 2000 with a degree in Theater Arts and Dance. She is a founding member of Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company and currently works as the Assistant to the Executive Director of the Charles and Harriet Luckman Fine Arts Complex.

Sarah Wilbur

Sarah’s enthusiasm, humoristic approach, and artistic versatility have earned her a reputable career as a performer, educator, advocate and choreographer (AGMA) in concert dance, opera, theatre, and film productions. She has created over 40 dances for the concert stage, many through her tenure as artistic director for Milwaukee-based non-profit Danceworks, Inc. A recent L.A. transplant, Sarah brings a decade of experience as a dance educator offering technique and creative dance experiences that serve a variety of populations. She recently won a 2008 Bessie Schonberg Choreography Residency at The Yard in Massachusetts, for her community-based choreographic initiative: The Wide Sky Dance Project.

Sloan Robinson

Sloan is from Detroit where she was a member of the Harbinger Dance Company. She lived in New York City for ten years and was an apprentice dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. While in New York she taught at New York University, Rod Rodgers Dance Studio, Stepps, and the Latin American Dance Theatre. Sloan has been in Los Angeles twenty two years and has been a dance instructor choreographer for numerous schools and projects including Music LA Summer Programs, Harambee Camp, Westwood Performing Arts Camp, and the City Ballet of Los Angeles dance outreach in the Inglewood Unified School District. She is also a professional actress with numerous stage and television credits.

Blaire Baron Larsen

Blaire has been a performer on stage and in over 50 films and television shows for the past 20 years. Even longer has she been a practitioner of yoga. Four years ago, she transformed her personal passion for this ancient science into a teaching certificate so that she may pass it on to young people. A Certified Youth Arts Professional with the Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival's YAPTI program, Miss Baron Larsen specializes all her programs toward inner city youth ages 6-14. In her classes, the children participate in an opening talk, then receive a vigorous yoga set with deep relaxation at the end.

Yuka Fukuda

Yuka Fukuda a former company member of Ailey II, City Ballet of Los Angeles, Dallas Black Dance Theater and Asami Maki Tokyo Ballet, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival She has also performed in the world tour of The King & I. Ms. Fukuda teaching credits are City Ballet of Los Angeles, The Ailey School N.Y., Dallas Black Dance Academy and Nang Young Academy of Fine Arts of Singapore.

Melba Morris

Melba Morris is originally from New York City, where she studied at Carnegie Hall’s renowned Studio 61, with Vera Nemtchinova , Henry Danton and Vladimir Dokoudovsky. She also trained with Igor Yousekevitch, Edward Caton, and Jazz with the legendary Luigi. She started dancing professionally at age 17. She has been teaching and coaching for over 30 years and is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher.

Joseph Yuan

With a background in the Franco-Belgian, Russian, and German violin playing styles, Joseph Yuan has studied from some of the best violinists in the world. Through the use of a teaching system that combines the philosophies of all the most respected European schools of violin playing you will have a lot of fun while receiving quality violin instruction.
