An equally important part of the City Ballet of Los Angeles & School is the teaching program. We believe that introducing ballet to children opens the door to music, theater and their imagination.

CBLA offers five levels of classes each with its own set of goals to achieve. Student are able to take between one and six classes a week. Depending on their level. Classes include: Ballet technique from pre-ballet up to advanced, variation class, point, modern, yoga, pilates conditioning, dance history and world dance.

Children are selected from the Los Angeles Unified School District and charter schools to participate in our Urban Outreach program. After an audition process, students ages six through twelve are selected to train in the CBLA closed classes. Thereafter, students will be asked to continue the program only if they meet the criteria of ability and desire.
